The varied and 5-kilometer-long forest activity trail runs around the Heedberg (365 m above sea level) in the south of Meinerzhagen. Varied stations around the forest await all walkers and hikers, but school classes or other groups will also find a great, extracurricular and nature-oriented place to learn here.

As guests in the forest, we show understanding, respect and correct behavior to ensure the use, protection and recreation of our forest.
Starting at the Heed hiking parking lot in the south of Meinerzhagen, the 5-kilometre-long forest activity trail winds its way around the Heedberg. There are many varied "forest discovery stations" along the way, such as a dendrophone (where you can make the different trees/woods sound) or the unique forest classroom.
A highlight is the adjoining viewpoint with a forest sofa where you can really enjoy the peace and quiet and the far-reaching views.
An information board at the starting point provides an overview of the forest activity trail and the individual stations. The "Wald-Aktiv-Pfad-App" can also be downloaded here free of charge. By sending a signal via the app when you reach a station along the Forest Active Trail, you receive exciting and informative additional material about the adventure stations directly on your smartphone.
There are other hiking trails in the immediate vicinity, such as the Bergische Panoramasteig or the Sauerland-Höhenflug circular trail. The Genkeltalsperre dam is also within walking distance. A hiking overview board at the hiking parking lot also provides a corresponding overview.
An additional small highlight along the way: the witches' oak with a rest area under a legendary radio play station also invites you to take a short break.
When exploring the Forest Active Trail, we recommend taking a smartphone with you so that you can use all the additional elements with the help of the Forest Active Trail app.
The paths are mainly forest tracks, which can be softened and muddy in appropriate weather conditions.
First aid: In an emergency, call the emergency number 112 and quote the rescue point number. Rescue points are marked access points in the forest for rescue vehicles. If the nearest rescue point is not known, your location can be called up directly via AML (Advanced Mobile Location) during the emergency call.
If you have enough time, it is worth making a detour to the Genkeltalsperre. After successfully exploring the Wald-Aktiv-Pfad, it is worth stopping off at the Hotel-Restaurant "Zum Schnüffel", 3 kilometers away by car (Zum Schnüffel 10, Tel. 02354/2580).
