Drolshagen A5 Gold village, nature and more
This trail leads hikers through tranquil nature with wonderful views. The Rose Valley is spanned by a high bridge. The contrast between the green landscape and highway architecture can be perceived as a special aesthetic attraction. The hamlet of Essinghausen, awarded the title of "Gold Village", is idyllically situated.

The hiking trail is well marked by the SGV and marked out in the usual Sauerland style.It leads through Essinghausen, Wenkhausen, Eichen, Eichenermühle, Rosenthal, Frenkhausen and Wintersohl.

Gastronomy, "Zum Hobel" inn
The chapel in Wenkhausen was built in the late Baroque style to commemorate the victory over the Turks at the Battle of Lepanto (1716).
The Eichener Mühle was first mentioned in 1512. Equipped with an iron, overshot water wheel, it was a "ban mill" of the Drolshagen monastery.
