The mill was first mentioned in 1512 as a ban mill of the former Cistercian monastery in Drolshagen and was still in operation until 1964. It is now to be restored as a technical cultural asset with a new water wheel, grinding mill and sawmill. The special features of the mill, which was once operated with 3 water wheels, are explained during the guided tour and supplemented by further examples of historical and modern use of water power.
Opening times:
The mill is open on Open Monument Day (2nd Sunday in September) and on German Mill Day (Whit Monday). Visits can also be arranged by appointment.
