There is a QR code on every (themed) information board, which you can use to call up the route and details of the trail. Selected information boards are equipped with an additional QR code. Exciting additional digital information is waiting to be discovered by you.
As guests in the forest, we show understanding, respect and correct behavior to ensure the use, protection and recreation of our forest.
The "Oben An der Volme" region is rich in forests and water. This is why this one of two themed trails in Schalksmühle is dedicated to the river, which winds its way through the valley of the same name from Meinerzhagen to Hagen, where it flows into the Ruhr. Exciting themed panels provide information about the importance the river has always had for people and the environment, its use and ecological aspects.
Beyond the Volme, in the "Notkleff" nature reserve, the hiking trail stretches for around 1.5 km up to the "Stöcken" settlement. However, the impressions of the wooded area and the view of the Breckerfeld countryside make up for the effort. The path then meanders gently back down to the starting point (hiking parking lot) near the Dahlerbrück train station. The environmentally friendly journey through the Volmetal valley from Lüdenscheid or Hagen is therefore very easy.
Special features along the way: in addition to the information boards with exciting information and some QR codes for further videos or audio tracks, you can also discover an adventure treasure chest and a panoramic picture frame along the way.
An entertaining route for a long walk, often on small roads and through residential areas, but also with a more challenging section of path, combined with a climb that needs to be taken into account.Route characteristicsRoad & asphalt: 4.2 km - Nature trail: 1.1 km - Path section: 1 kmWe start at the Dahlerbrück hiking parking lot and initially follow the road down the mountain. We accompany the small Glör river on the path towards the Volme before turning left. Passing through housing estates, the trail finally leads to the Volme, where interesting information boards give us an insight into the "world of the Volme".The hiking trail now leads along the now more mature course of the river before we turn left and leave the Volme. Uphill, into the residential area of Dahle, we leave the narrower valley of the Volme and finally reach the forest, where the Notlkleff nature reserve begins. A still young stream makes its way up to the Volme here and we can catch one or two glimpses of the Volme in sparse sections of forest. Now follows a longer ascent on narrower paths up to "Stöcken".At the top, we follow the small road to the left, passing the Milchhäusel before the path slowly descends again. There are several places to stop for a break here before we finally reach the residential area again and return to the hiking parking lot.
Hiking-friendly and weatherproof footwear is recommended.
