Restricted use of sonar
During the period from 01.07. to 30.09. it is prohibited to carry sonar/echo sounders of any kind while fishing. Violations of this regulation will result in immediate termination of the FEV and a temporary block in the customer account of the FEV online store.
Bait restriction
From 01.04.2024, the following bait regulations will apply to whitefish and perch fishing:
Foreign guests
Foreign guests who have lived in Germany for less than a year must provide proof in the form of an examination certificate or a fishing permit. An annual fishing license can be applied for from the district town of Olpe for a fee of 16.00 euros and the submission of a passport photo. Dutch guests receive the fishing license without proof of knowledge, as no fishing examination is required in the Netherlands.
Tip:
In the warm summer months, depending on the temperature, the main residence of the fish is about 10 meters deep.
With an impressive water surface area of 714 hectares, the Biggesee stretches over a length of 14 kilometers and is up to 1,000 meters wide. The maximum water depth in the dam area is 50 meters.
Among the sought-after fish species are eels weighing up to 2 kilograms, perch weighing up to 2.5 kilograms, impressive pike with a potential weight of up to 18 kilograms, equally impressive carp with a maximum weight of up to 15 kilograms and tench weighing up to 3 kilograms. Lake trout and zander, which can reach up to 10 kilograms, can also be found in the Biggesee. Bream, vendace, roach and catfish further enrich the variety of fish species.
Catch limit:
It is prohibited to catch more than two fish of the following species in a single day: Pike, trout, zander, vendace and perch over 35 cm in length (for example: 1 pike + 1 zander = a total of 2 fish of the above species).
Fishing practice:
With an impressive water surface area of 162 hectares and a length of 4.5 kilometers, Listersee is one of the five forebays of the impressive Biggesee. Listersee stretches up to 400 meters wide and reaches an impressive maximum water depth of 33 meters when full.
In terms of the variety of fish species, Listersee is a true paradise for anglers. Here you will find eels weighing up to 2 kilograms, alpine char, perch (also up to 2 kilograms), stately pike with a potential of up to 15 kilograms, as well as equally impressive carp. Tench weighing up to 3 kilograms and lake trout weighing up to 7 kilograms can also be found here, as well as zander weighing up to 10 kilograms. The waters are also populated by bluefish, bream and roach.
Catch limit:
It is prohibited to catch more than two fish of the species pike, trout, zander and perch over 35 cm in length in a single day, in addition to more than four char and five whitefish (for example: 1 pike + 1 zander = a total of 2 fish of the aforementioned species).
